My Thoughts on Season 3 of Love on the Spectrum
It's been 2 weeks since season 3 of Netflix's Love on the Spectrum has been released. There are 7 episodes in this season. This season was released on April 2nd, which is World Autism Day. This season was an easy 10/10. The cast is:
- Abbey Romeo
- David (Abbey's Boyfriend of 3 years)
- Tanner Smith
- Madison Marilla
- Dani Bowman
- Adan Correa
- Pari
- James Jones
- Connor Tomlinson
This season was full of ups and downs. If you want spoilers, you're now entering the spoiler zone.
The season introduces us to two new girls, Madison and Pari. Madison is from St. Petersburg, Florida and has a bracelet making business, collects American Girl dolls, collects Barbies.and loves Disney. Pari lives with her mom in Boston, Massachusetts. She loves riding the Boston Train System. She loves trains and states her goal is to meet her T prince/princess as she says she identifies as bisexual.
Connor Tomlinson, lives with his mom in Atlanta, Georgia. He started the season off STRONG. His mom, Lise, set him up with a girl from Tennessee who is blonde. You can tell he admired her, despite his rigid opinions on brunettes. However, because of where she lives, he told her he didn't want to travel long distance. Honestly, he's valid. Distance might matter to some people and some it doesn't. And that is OKAY!!
Dani and Adan, from Southern California started the season celebrating their one year anniversary. They discussed taking their relationship to the next level, which is having sexual intimacy.
Madison went on a date with a guy (whose name I cannot remember). She had help preparing for it from Jennifer Cook (Autism author and expert). The poor guy was overstimulated the whole date and hardly spoke with Madison.
Pari went on her first date with a girl with a condition that makes it hard for her to see sometimes (this is from my memory). They hit it off immediately. It was so sweet. They had so much in common. Pari's date is also on the autism spectrum.
James, who lives in Boston as well, went to a speed dating event. I'd say this, regardless if the producers made him look like this or not, the guy spoke 90% in all of the conversations he had. He was completely rigid in his expectations. He states that he prefers a woman who doesn't have any kids and doesn't have or want any animals. His parents are so patient with him, but I feel like there were times he would say something like "my wedding day is about me, its old school to let the bride have the day". In my opinion, I feel like a wedding day should at least honor BOTH the bride and groom. I think poor James needs help seeing that, but that's my opinion. He went on a date with a beautiful girl named Sonia. Their date was okay. James rejected her for a second date, which is his loss cause she seems like a sweet girl. James did end up with someone, which I'm honestly happy for him.
Now, back to Connor. Holy crap! The dude has come out of his shell since the last season! He started dating a girl named Georgie. She is so patient with him and so good with him. It makes me so happy for him.
Tanner went on two dates. Bro is a stud! I'm so happy for him for putting himself out there AND meeting Jack Black on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I put Tanner and Jack's meeting in here.
Now, Dani and Adan ended up breaking up due to different beliefs in sexual intimacy before marriage. While I feel like this is important, I think that they should've discussed this topic BEFORE hitting their one year anniversary. Also, if they really loved each other, I believe they would've been able to meet in the middle somewhere.
As for Madison, after two dates with a guy named Tyler, she and him kissed and made it official. He met her parents. Honestly, kudos to them and best of wishes to them in their relationship.
FINALLY, Abbey and David are cuter than ever. Still together after 2-3 years. She wrote him a song for their anniversary.
Overall, the autistic representation was there, the love was there, the heart was there....I'm so proud to call this show one of my favorites!
